It's not just the Catholic Church
July 28, 2010
There was an interesting article in The Evening Standard last night about a lady who had been abused as a child when she was in the care of social services. The facts of the case are utterly disturbing - Teresa Cooper, now 43, was drugged and raped over a period of around 32 months, when she was in Kendall House, a children's home, run by the Church of England. There's been so much press recently about child abuse within the Catholic Church, that I think it has detracted attention from the fact that this crime can happen anywhere. Campaigners like Teresa Cooper are living proof that victims of historic child abuse can seek redress, compensation and hopefully one day, a proper apology. Find out more about the child abuse compensation work that we do.
