As a volunteer of Headway House, I recently attended their Annual General Meeting (AGM). The meeting comprised of guests, volunteers, staff and members. Aside from all the necessary matters that needed to be addressed at the AGM, there was a great tour of the day centre and a number of fascinating talks from some of the volunteers and staff about the great fundraising work they had achieved over the last year and their plans for the year ahead. I was amazed by the amount of time, creative ideas and hard work put in by so many people on such a limited budget, all doing such wonderful work to keep the day centre and its superb facilities going. Headway House supports members, families and professionals, and provides carer support, therapies and a variety of programmes. The work and support that is provided by Headway House is an invaluable hub to the local community to help people work together to solve problems, make progress and enjoy life following an acquired brain injury.
