Chinooks change nothing at the MoD

Injured and retired service personnel looking for New Year’s resolutions from the Ministry of Defence to care for them as they deserve will be disappointed. The Chinook scandal shows the familiar pattern of poor equipment being dealt with by blaming the victims; we see this all the time in our military compensation claims. And – taking up an old case of mine - the Gurkhas who have at last been allowed to settle here still don’t have the pensions to live decently. Plus ça change, eh?
