Anita Konkel, the 16 year old pupil who was knocked over by a woman driving a 4x4 outside her school in Muswell Hill in 2010, is to sue the driver. Anita suffered a serious brain injury in the accident and now requires round the clock care from her mother who had to give up work to care for her. Anita is bringing the claim through her mother for compensation said to be in excess of £500,000. This will be a very substantial claim in view of the serious and disabling nature of Anita’s brain injury. The Council are planning to impose a 20mph speed limit outside the school where the horrific crash occurred, a move backed by Anita’s mother Dorothy Kasprus.
