Anyone who acts for Service Personnel knows that plenty of bullying goes on – as well as problems with medical care, duff gear, daft instructions in training…otherwise we wouldn’t have the number of successful military compensation claims we do. But here’s the thing. Once out in Afghanistan or Iraq people behave at their absolute heroic best. Of course there’s the odd exception and (more than) the odd mistake – but that’s not the rule. To pretend the BBC drama “Frankie’s Story” reflects normality in the field is all wrong.
