Don’t leave it too late. I’ve just been contacted by yet another soon-to-be-ex member of the Services who has left it too late to claim the injury compensation to which he should have been entitled. His problem was that he thought he couldn’t claim while he was serving, and he’s not alone. Time and again I pick up the phone to people who have waited until their discharge, thinking they were bound by MoD rules until they left. It’s not true at all, and you could well miss the court’s time limits if you think it is. It’s a myth, which welfare services and the chain of command don’t seem to do very much to dispel. I wonder why?
