My colleague, Cheryl Abrahams, and I were fortunate enough to be invited as guests of Headway East London to their wonderful charity event at the House of Lords. It was an amazing evening, filled with speeches and a short documentary film made by some of the members illustrating their experiences following an acquired brain injury and showing how the charity has supported them. There was also an opportunity to catch-up with the chairman, trustees and volunteers of the charity, not to mention some of the members. In particular, I was able to catch-up with an inspirational friend, Dean Harding, a member of Headway who suffered a severe brain injury in 1998, and now amazingly is a volunteer for the charity who helps generate publicity for Headway East London. It was a truly fantastic evening and we left feeling very privileged to have been a part of it, and we look forward to continue to work closely with the charity in supporting the brilliant work that they do.
