On Saturday 3rd September 2011, a team of 19 lawyers from Bolt Burdon Kemp and Bolt Burdon will be facing their fear and jumping out of an aeroplane to raise money for Headway East London.
Headway East London is an independent charity that supports people whose lives have been affected by an acquired brain injury. Headway House is the headquarters of Headway East London which is a day centre, welcoming all those who have an acquired brain injury and acts as a home for the community, support services and fundraising activities.
Bolt Burdon Kemp solicitors in Islington, specialise in claiming compensation for people with acquired brain injury. They are the first organisation to take up the Baton Challenge to raise money for Headway East London (2011-2012). They have supported a number of Headway House initiatives including the Headway Art Space, and have had staff members take part in the Headway London Sponsored Walk in May 2011 and the British 10km London Run in July 2011.
Marilene Antoni, a specialist solicitor in brain injury cases at Bolt Burdon Kemp, who works closely with the charity said, “We are honoured to be the first Baton Holders for Headway East London. I am very excited about taking part in the skydiving challenge, and I hope we can raise as much money as possible for this very deserving charity, that does such incredible work supporting people with an acquired brain injury”.
Miriam Lantsbury, Chief Executive of Headway East London said, “On behalf of everyone at Headway East London, I would like to express how delighted we are that so many people at Bolt Burdon Kemp and Bolt Burdon are taking up the baton challenge and getting behind the fundraising effort. We’re particularly impressed by the 19 brave souls who will be skydiving on 3rd September and planning to raise money for the charity. We wish them every success”.
All expenses for the skydive challenge are being paid for by law firms Bolt Burdon Kemp and Bolt Burdon, so all the money raised will go to Headway East London. To support and make a donation to the Skydive Challenge please visit www.justgiving.com/BB-BBKskydivers
