Manchester United supports falls from vehicles event

December 07, 2007

Manchester United Football Club is to host a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) event to highlight the dangers of falls from vehicles in the workplace.

The HSE's Workplace Transport Campaign 2007 is aimed at making both employers and employees aware of the risks involved in falling from vehicles and the event on Tuesday December 11th will focus on how such incidents can be avoided.

According to the HSE, three million people work with or near vehicles in the UK and there are 2,000 serious injuries every year as the result of people falling from a vehicle.

A number of presentations will be carried out at the event and will look at how goods can be moved safely so as to reduce the risk of employees suffering falls from vehicles at work.

The event will also include a practical case study from WM Morrisons Supermarkets.
