Families exposed to soup of toxic materials win right to sue

August 12, 2009

The High Court has ruled that a group of young people have the right to sue their local Council for compensation following their mother’s exposure to toxic substances between 1985 and 1999. The group suffered birth defects which has left them with disabilities affecting their hands and feet as well as heart defects, skin and eye problems. They claim the exposure took place during reclamation work carried out by the Council of Corby Steelworks.
