Roger
Bolt
In 1986, Roger and Lynne Burdon left Osmond Gaunt and Rose Solicitors to found Bolt Burdon in Islington. Initially the firm consisted of Roger, Lynne, a trainee and two secretaries. As the firm has grown in size Roger's role has evolved, and he is now Bolt Burdon Kemp's Senior Partner.
Roger was a long serving member of the executive committee of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and until April 2008 was the Treasurer of the Association. He is an APIL Fellow, a former member of the Costs Appeals Committee of the Legal Services Commission (Legal Aid Board), Assessor for and a member of the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel, a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the International Bar Association. He lectures frequently on personal injury law, particularly costs.
Outside work his five children keep him very busy. If he can find any spare time he plays his favourite Fender Stratocaster - in a pale imitation of Steve Cropper - in his blues/soul combo, the Big Girls Blues Band. Roger travels to Australia frequently where he drinks far too much Shiraz at the Icebergs overlooking Bondi Beach, consumes far too many Oysters Kilpatrick at Watson's Bay Doyles and - if he can summon the energy - does his favourite walk around the coast from Bronte to Bondi. He likes music of all types (particularly blues, jazz, cajun, country and soul), Mediterranean food and sailing. He is also an obsessive supporter of Arsenal Football Club.
