Police officer critically injured by "drunk skier"
April 21, 2010
A senior Scotland Yard police officer is in a critical condition after being struck on the head at high speed by a skier who was "twice the drink drive limit". The man, who was making his way back to his hotel with this wife and two of his three children, was said to have felt the full force of the impact of the skier's boots to his head as he careered out of control down the slopes in the Italian resort of Bardonecchia, 50 miles west of Turin. This raises the question for us as personal injury solicitors of whether the ski resort could and should be held liable for allowing this man to venture out onto the slopes in such a condition, when he would clearly present a danger to himself and others
