M & Ms could hold cure for spinal injuries

I read a really interesting article this morning about the food dye that gives blue M & M's their colour can apparently help mend spinal injuries . Scientists found that the compound ' brilliant blue G ' helped rats with broken spines to walk again, although with a limp. On the downside, the treatment causes the skin to temporarily turn bright blue !
This could be a big break through for people involved in accidents who have suffered serious spinal injuries.
