Hurray for the River Thames!

As a South Londoner working in North London, you would think that I may have been pleased at the news that Transport for London were getting rid of the River Thames on tube maps. After all, I have to put up with comments from many of my colleagues in the north/ south divide debate -and if they live north of the river, where I live isn't even London to them! But I actually welcome TFL's u-turn to put the Thames back. The tube map is an iconic image of London - just like routemaster buses (gone!) and the old London cabs (going!). Stop the meddling bureaucrats I say, and let us keep our heritage!
