Councils are putting cyclists in danger

Potholes have become a real problem for road users. Whilst they are hazardous for pedestrians and can damage cars, potholes are particularly dangerous for cyclists. Poor road surfaces can cause cyclists to fall and sustain very bad injuries, especially if a car is passing at the same time.
In 2008, councils spent less on repairing potholes than they paid out in compensation for accidents caused by poor road conditions. I hope councils will now see the economic sense in repairing roads to stop these needless accidents from occurring.
