£1.25 million damages for motorcyclist accident compensation claim

Mr A was stationary on a motorbike at traffic lights and the Defendant’s 4x4 vehicle came from behind and ran him over. Mr A sustained orthopaedic injuries in his motorbike accident and was briefly concussed. Mr A claimed that but for the motorbike accident, his career would have developed and he would have become a hedge fund manager, earning even larger sums in the City of London.

Defendant’s solicitors paid into court compensation in the sum of £1,250,000 which together with interim payments made a total accident compensation of just over £1.28 million, plus legal costs.

£115,000 compensation for motorcyclists accident against the police

Mr K was involved in a motorcycle accident when the Defendant, a police officer driving a police van, drove into our client at a cross-junction. The traffic lights were green in our client’s favour but the Defendant alleged that the police van was entitled to jump the red lights as it had its siren and blue lights on. However, this was never proven.

The accident caused Mr K to be thrown off his motorcycle and he landed in the road. As a result Mr K suffered multiple fractures to his left forearm, right hand and wrist, and to his pelvis and left leg. He required a number of operations and also suffered significant scarring.

We were able to negotiate a settlement in the sum of £115,000 for Mr K plus his legal costs.

£190,000 motorbike accident compensation

Mr H was involved in a motorcycle accident whilst driving his scooter on Bounds Green Road. There were two lanes on his side of the road. He knew a side road was coming up on the left and that traffic would be exiting and therefore he moved into the outside lane. A white van was waiting in the side road to turn on to the main road and was in a stationary position. Our client passed him but then a BMW edged out, overtaking the white van and collided with our client’s motorbike.

Our client claimed motorbike accident compensation for his injuries which included a break to the inside of his ankle. He has to undergo a number of operations and his ability to work has been affected.

We obtained motorbike accident compensation of £190,000 for our client, plus his legal costs.

Claimant receives £650,000 compensation for knee injury in motorbike accident

Our client was involved in a motorbike accident and suffered a complex dislocation of the left knee including ruptures of both cruciate ligaments, the collateral ligament complex, the medial patellar retinaculum and the common peroneal nerve. He suffered complete foot drop, and had to wear an ankle-foot orthosis for 4 years. Despite a 5-year course of treatment involving 5 operations, he has been left with a painful and deficient knee. He is likely to require complete knee replacement by the age of 60 and secondary replacement by the age of 75. In addition he suffered post-traumatic stress disorder which required prolonged psychological therapy and treatment with antidepressants. At the time of the accident our client was employed as an electrician but also had a passion for Thai Boxing. He had won 5 fights and was aiming to be world champion. As a result of his knee injury he was unable to participate in Thai Boxing and therefore lost his chance to pursue this career. He was also unable to do heavy manual work as a result of his injuries. Cheryl Abrahams, Partner in the personal injury department conducted this case and obtained £650,000 compensation for our client one month before trial.

Liability settlement allows Miss R to claim motorbike accident compensation

Our client, Miss R, was the rider of a motorbike and an accident took place when our client was travelling along Edgware Road. At the junction with Boscobel Street, London W1, the car driver turned right across her path and our client's motorbike collided with the side of that vehicle. Our client claimed motorbike accident compensation and we have recently achieved a liability settlement which will enable her proceed to obtain damages for her personal injuries.

Mr B was 16 years old and working as a motorcycle courier. As he was driving his motorcycle, the door of a parked van opened and to avoid a collision, he was forced onto the opposite carriageway where he was struck by a motorcycle coming in the opposite direction. Motorbike accident compensation

Our client was turning right into a side road on his motorcycle. There was a long line of slow moving traffic moving in the opposite direction. A van overtook the line of slow moving traffic, driving on the wrong side of the road and in so doing, collided with our client, knocking him off his motorcycle and causing him personal injury. Our client sued for motorbike accident compensation for a broken arm and we obtained £17,500 for him including early interim payments.

Motorbike accident compensation for ruptured spleen

Our client was a motorcyclist who was hit by a car. The car driver had been parked but had just begun to move forward as the client drove past him. Without warning the driver performed a u-turn and our client was unable to avoid a collision with the side of the car.

Our client suffered a ruptured spleen and as a result it was necessary to have this removed. He claimed compensation for the injuries caused in his motorbike accident. We obtained urgent interim compensation payments for him and settled his claim for a total of £23,500.

Motorcycle accident caused by stolen motorbike

The Claimant’s claim arose from a road traffic accident that occurred on the 29th August. She was standing on her driveway when she was hit by a motorcycle being driven by the First Defendant . The motorcycle had been stolen by the First Defendant and he was arrested.

The motorcycle was insured by the owner who held a motor insurance policy with the Second Defendant. The Second Defendant acted as RTA insurers and filed a Defence admitting liability but putting the Claimant to proof as to the nature and extent of her injuries.

Claimant suffered fracture of the head of humorous, underwent two separate surgical procedures and had no improvement and has therefore been left with permanent disability. She also suffered from head injury causing memory loss, poor concentration and dizziness. She also suffered from psychological Injuries.

Motorcycle accident compensation for car pulling out of side road

Our client was the driver of a Yamaha DT and was involved in a motorcycle accident. He was correctly proceeding along a public road when the Defendant car pulled out of a side road and into his path. He instructed us to pursue the driver for motorcycle accident compensation.

Our client sustained serious injuries in the motorcycle accident including multiple fractures to his leg and wrist and as a result he underwent several rounds of reconstruction surgery to his left wrist but was left with on-going instability, decreased range of movement and weakness with deformity from the original fracture and numbness in the fingers following the motorcycle accident. He was left with multiple scarring over his left wrist and suffered from psychological injuries. As a result of the motorcycle accident the Claimant was left with a 2cm shortening of his right leg.

Motorcycle accident compensation for multiple injuries

The Claimant was involved in a motorcycle accident. He was stationary on his Honda ST1100 motorcycle when he was struck in the rear by a car which in turn had been struck by the Defendant car. Our client was knocked off his motorbike and shunted underneath the vehicle in front. He instructed us to make a motorbike accident compensation claim.

As a result of the motorcycle accident the Claimant sustained multiple injuries. His injuries included multiple bilateral rib fractures and bilateral pneumothoraces, a fracture of the right shoulder blade, full thickness burns to the right upper arm, a puncture wound to the left elbow, soft tissue injuries to his left wrist and to the base of the left thumb, an undisplaced fracture of his left hip and a pelvis fracture. In addition the motorcycle accident caused the Claimant to suffer a psychological reaction.

The motorcycle accident caused our client ongoing problems with his right shoulder, knee, wrist and hip. He also suffered burn injuries which have required surgery.

As a result of the motor cycle accident we recovered £45,000 compensation for the Claimant.

We acted on behalf of a 14 year old child who was injured in a motorcycle accident. She was travelling as a pillion passenger on her father’s motorcycle when the defendant emerged from a side road into their path. Our client was thrown from the motorcycle into the road. She suffered a nasty fracture of the right thigh which was fixed with plates and screws under general anaesthetic. She received a 3 pint blood transfusion and was in hospital for a week. She had to use crutches for around 6 weeks. She had a course of physiotherapy but continued to suffer from pain and stiffness in her right leg. She had a second operation to remove the metalwork from her leg which eased some of her symptoms. Unfortunately she continued to suffer from pain and stiffness in her right knee and underwent an arthroscopy and further physiotherapy. She had to have time off school which affected her studies and she missed out on some social and sporting activities as a result of her injuries and medical appointments. We obtained compensation for our client in the sum of £33,584.49
