Concern for Patients of Mr Simon Lambert, Orthopaedic Shoulder Surgeon

At least 20 people are suspected to have been treated by Mr Simon Lambert using PEEK (polyetheretherketone) implants between 2008 and 2013. They are untested and unauthorised for use in the shoulder joint. Mr Lambert, an orthopaedic surgeon, operated at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH), Stanmore and the Spire Bushey Hospital in Hertfordshire.

We understand that the RNOH have launched an investigation and that Mr Lambert is no longer operating at the hospital. They have contacted people who they believe were given PEEK implants in their shoulders, and may have been injured by this inappropriate treatment.

We understand that Mr Lambert continues to practise at Spire Bushey Hospital in Hertfordshire.
