Gillings
Stuart is a partner and specialist in occupational disease and employers' liability claims. He is a member of the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel, the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and the APIL Special Interest Groups on occupational health, brain injury, and military cases. Stuart's case load comprises claims on behalf of the armed forces, fatal claims and catastrophic injuries sustained because of accidents or clinical negligence.
Outside of work Stuart is involved with the parent-school association of a secondary school and in his spare time he enjoys archery.
Reported cases include the clinical negligence claim reported as Farraj & Anor v King’s Healthcare NHS Trust & Anor [2008] EWHC 2468 (QB) in which a successful result was achieved for our Jordanian client at trial in July 2008. The case focussed on the issues of whether the English court had jurisdiction to deal with the claim, as well as the negligence of a hospital and a laboratory on pre-natal testing.
