Sham solicitors set up to steal

A family have been the victims of crime after a conman set up a sham firm of solicitors to act in a sale of property. The family's own solicitors missed tell-tale signs of fraud which resulted in them transferring funds to buy a £735,000 house to the bogus firm. The house was repossessed by the previous owner's mortgage lender shortly after the family supposedly bought the house. The conmen pocketed the family's money. The family are now pursuing their own solicitors for negligence. What is extremely worrying is the fact that this sham firm of solicitors were actually registered at the Law Society therefore appearing legitimate, and carried out the conveyancing plausibly.
