New bike crash reporting site

The National cyclists' organisation has just started a website called Stop SMIDSY (‘Sorry Mate I Didn’t See You’). This is a website that can be used to report crashes as well as near misses. I think it is a brilliant idea, since this will be the first time that dangerous incidents which do not cause accidents are going to be reported. This could provide a wealth of statistics about when accidents happen, especially as there are likely to be far more incidents of 'near misses' than actual accidents.
The extra evidence will clearly be useful to show how accidents happen. Perhaps a handy by-product of the site will be to show the best ways of taking avoiding action when cyclists are faced with a dangerous situation.
