NHS Trauma services "not good enough"

I heard on the news this morning that a report has been published saying that people who suffer serious injuries, from things like road traffic accidents, falls and burns, are not being cared for well enough by the trauma services of the NHS. If major trauma care was more effective, between 450 and 600 lives could be saved each year in England alone. In particular, those who suffer accidents are often taken as a matter of course to the nearest casualty or A&E department rather than to hospitals with the equipment and expertise to handle more complex cases. We as personal injury solicitors, when applying for medical records for use in compensation claims, usually say that we do not allege any complaint about treatment but this may have to be revised if this report is accurate. In the future, personal injury and clinical negligence compensation claims may run side by side.
