A bad bike week for me, a good week for cyclists in Bristol

Since my last blog I have had my bike stolen so I'll be off the road for a bit....but in better news, Bristol has been named England's first cycling city! The scheme includes plans for a bike-rental network, free bike repairs, dedicated cycle lanes, better facilities for cyclists and more training for children. Hopefully these measures will encourage people to cycle whilst making the roads safer and reducing accidents.

This sounds like a really good initiative and a number of other cities around the country will be taking part in the scheme (I just hope that London will follow suit and provide more secure places to lock-up bikes!)
