I have done very little exercise in the past and I therefore decided that this was the year for all of that to change. So back in February I decided to shape up my own life…literally!
I signed up to the marathon with lots of encouragement from my fabulous marathon team members. I went to the gym for the first time back in February and have been going on average five times a week. When I first started I could not run for more than 2 minutes without stopping or wanting to cry! Now I have lost almost 3 stone to date and am starting to run for much longer and I actually like it…which is lucky!
My aim is to complete the marathon and enjoy it. It has been such a huge challenge for me and I have dedicated a lot of time to do this.
I completed my first 10k race in July and even though I was the last to finish the important thing was that I did finish it and was very proud of myself. My team members have been so supportive and even ran the last few yards of my first 10k with me which I will never forget.
As a family law solicitor I have always supported the NSPCC and think that are a great cause to dedicate so much time, energy and sweat to.
